School libraries are phenomenal places for students to utilize their creativity, curiosity and drive.  In Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared September 15, 2015 as Power Up at Your Library Day,

Some great examples of school libraries playing this critical role:

  • Memorial Middle School had a number of STEM related activities for children in their Creative Lab makerspace.
  • Clear Spring Elementary School Library held a literacy and visual art program for children.

While New Jersey does not have a Power Up at Your Library Day, we do have New Jersey Makers Day and registration has just opened,

63 public schools participated in New Jersey Makers Day in March 2016!
